Eye Exams

eye exam 3

Primary eye care  includes a comprehensive vision and eye health examination.   At The Vision Place, our examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting vision function, such as blurred vision or eye discomfort.  Keeping your eyes healthy is important. The American Optometric Association recommends that all people should have a periodic, comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on ones particular needs.  An annual eye exam can help detect a number of eye health conditions before they become something more serious.

When you visit The Vision Place, you can rest assured that you are getting the care your eyes deserve. Regardless of your age or your physical health, a comprehensive eye exam is much more than just to determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. Dr. Palomino will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.

Computerized examination instruments are used to supplement rather than replace personalized care. Examinations include tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as effects of medications. A dilated pupil examination allows us to provide the best assessment of eye health.  It is recommended for all new patients and on a scheduled basis thereafter.

Eye examinations are an important part of health maintenance for everyone. Adults should have their eyes tested to keep their prescriptions current and to check for early signs of eye disease. Eye exams for children play an important role in ensuring normal vision development and academic achievement of all kids.

Vision is closely linked to the learning process. Children who have trouble seeing or interpreting what they see will often have trouble with their schoolwork. Many times, children will not complain of vision problems simply because they don't know what "normal" vision looks like. If your child performs poorly at school or exhibits a reading or learning disability, be sure to have his eyes examined by an eye doctor who specializes in children's vision to rule out an underlying visual cause.

The Vision Place performs routine vision exams, children eye exams, general vision issues, macular degeneration tests, peripheral retinal tests, glaucoma tests and peripheral visual field test.
