Transforming Eye Care Through Technology

Technology has revolutionized many aspects of our daily lives, and eye care is no exception. Innovative technology in optometry has made it possible to achieve detailed measurements of the eye, allowing doctors to identify and monitor health changes that were previously undetectable.

At The Vision Place, we’re excited to embrace technology, as it can significantly improve the quality of care we provide. By gaining invaluable insights into your individual eye health, we can provide you with a personalized and proactive approach to your eye care and treatment.

Enhancing Patient Experiences is Our Priority

Our technology plays a vital role in personalizing every aspect of your care. We recognize that many patients have already experienced the advantages of technology in their everyday lives—making tasks faster, more accessible, and convenient.

We’re dedicated to bringing those same qualities to our practice, using technology to enhance quality, convenience, and education.

We Use Technology to Understand Your Vision Needs In-Depth

At The Vision Place, we seamlessly integrate a wide array of tools and technology. From the devices you encounter during routine eye exams to the sophisticated systems that help us monitor your eye health throughout your lifetime, we embrace innovation to deliver personalized care.

Through detailed measurements and observations, we can gain valuable insights into your specific needs. We utilize technology to enhance every step of your journey with us.

Our priority is improving health outcomes and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Heru AR/VR Testing

Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be game-changers in eye care.

Through Heru AR/VR testing, we can conveniently evaluate a patient’s visual field in 3 simple steps, providing a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. We can also assess color vision, dark adaptation, and contrast sensitivity with the Heru device.

Dr. Palomino can utilize insights gained from the Heru system to craft personalized treatment plans that cater to each patient’s vision needs.

The iCare tonometer is a handheld device that can measure eye pressure quickly and accurately. The device measures the rebound speed of a probe that gently touches and bounces off the cornea. Then, the device calculates eye pressure based on the rebound speed.

Using a handheld device allows our doctors to assess eye pressure regardless of whether the patient is sitting or standing, adding another layer of convenience to our comprehensive eye care services.

Refractive errors, like nearsightedness or farsightedness, are the most common vision problem. They occur when light focuses (refracts) incorrectly, causing blurred vision. A refraction test can determine glasses prescription and help diagnose eye diseases.

The NIDEK automated refractor can offer accurate evaluation by measuring refraction over a wider area, improving treatment strategies.

We use optomap ultra-widefield retinal imaging to provide a comprehensive examination of the inside of the eye. With a quick flash of light, we can capture a complete 200-degree view of the retina.

This wide, detailed view allows us to closely examine the blood vessels and tissue within the eye, which can provide crucial insights for identifying and monitoring various health conditions, including diabetes and macular degeneration.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an advanced imaging technology that allows us to capture highly detailed cross-sectional images of the inner structures of the eye.

Through the meticulous analysis of multiple tissue layers, we can gain insights into your vision and overall eye health. OCT is an innovative technology that can enhance our ability to monitor any changes in your eye health over time and detect early signs of eye disease.

Axial Length Measurement for Myopia Control

Axial length is the measurement of eye length from front to back. This measurement can provide crucial information for managing myopia (nearsightedness), a common vision problem often detected in school-age kids.

When the eye is too long, it can cause blurry distance vision. Myopia is progressive, worsening as the eye continues to grow. The elongation can cause tissue to stretch and thin, increasing the risk of sight-threatening eye diseases in adulthood, such as retinal detachment and macular degeneration

By monitoring axial length, we can tailor treatment plans to enhance the effectiveness of myopia control.
