Lenses Customized for Comfort & Quality

We know convenience matters. Whether you prefer daily or part-time wear, we have an extensive selection of brands and types that can cater to your lifestyle.

With us, your contact lens fitting isn’t just another routine exam. It’s an opportunity for us to evaluate if your lenses fit properly while prioritizing your comfort, vision, and eye health.

What Happens During a Contact Lens Exam & Fitting?

While routine eye exams can seem similar to contact lens exams, the latter involves precise measurements to determine a custom prescription.

Routine eye exams keep an eye on your overall eye health and vision, while contact lens exams go the extra mile to determine a comfortable and correct lens fit. It’s a bit like getting a tailored suit—the process has extra steps, but the fit can make a big difference in how sharp you look.

Whether you’re trying contacts for the first time or updating your prescription, our goal is to help enhance your vision and comfort.

For long-time contact lens wearers, we take the time to see you with your current lenses. We assess how your lenses perform and discuss how you feel on a daily basis so that we can make improvements.

Step 1: Exam

A contact lens exam, similar to a routine eye exam, begins by assessing your eye health and vision. We conduct various tests to evaluate the eye’s surface, including cornea, iris, and pupil size. Then, we determine the corneal curvature (the front curve of the eye), so we can precisely customize your prescription.

Once we have your custom measurements, we’ll provide you with a trial pair of contact lenses. You can take these lenses home to evaluate how they feel and perform. Afterward, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to assess the fit, carefully considering your feedback and conducting another examination of your eye health.

When the lenses meet your vision needs, we’ll order your supply. We can also make any necessary adjustments to enhance the fit further.

Contact Lens Solutions Tailored to Your Eyes & Lifestyle

At The Vision Place, our priority is to provide our patients with options that fit their individual needs. We offer a wide range of contact lens types, from standard soft contact lenses to rigid gas-permeable lenses, as well as hybrid lenses that combine the benefits of both.

We’re always on the lookout for innovative solutions that can enhance comfort and convenience for our patients, such as Total30 lenses, which we often recommend as the most hydrating, and daily disposable 1-Day lenses, which are less drying.

Whether you want contacts for daily wear, sporting events, or special occasions, we’re committed to delivering a personalized solution that can seamlessly align with your lifestyle.

Aspheric

Traditional spherical contact lenses feature an even curvature throughout the lens surface. But aspheric lenses have varying curvatures across the design. This non-uniform shape helps concentrate light focus to help eliminate spherical aberration (distorted or blurred vision).

Aspheric lenses can significantly enhance visual acuity for some patients, delivering sharper, clearer, and brighter vision overall.

Toric contact lenses offer a solution for patients with astigmatism (irregular cornea or lens curvature). Patients with astigmatism can experience blurred vision, difficulty seeing fine details, and tilted vertical lines. Toric lenses are designed to provide different refractive powers on the vertical and horizontal planes of the lens (counteracting the eye’s uneven curvature).

The lens features also help secure the lens position, such as thin-thick zones and ballasting techniques that add weight to the lens.

Multifocal lenses are specialized optical lenses that can provide individuals with clear vision at various distances, near and far.

By incorporating 2 prescriptions into a single lens, bifocals offer 2 distinct focusing powers for near and distance vision. Progressive lenses offer a gradual lens design to provide seamless transitions across all viewing distances, including near, middle-distance, and far.

For patients struggling with age-related vision changes like presbyopia, the integration of multifocal lenses can significantly enhance their overall quality of life.

Myopia Control Contact Lenses

We understand how important it is to preserve your child’s visual clarity. That’s why we offer a range of myopia control strategies tailored specifically to meet your child’s needs.

These techniques include innovative treatments like MiSight and multifocal contact lenses. In addition to these techniques, we can also provide additional techniques like atropine eye drops and environment change recommendations to help manage myopia progression.

MiSight Contacts

At our practice, we offer MiSight contact lenses that are designed with cutting-edge optical technology to slow down the progression of myopia in children.

These lenses are approved for children as young as 5 years old. By gently manipulating the way light focuses in the eye, they can help reduce the progression of myopia.

We also provide multifocal contact lenses that have multiple corrective powers to reduce or stop the progression of myopia.

These lenses focus light on the retina in a way that signals the eye to slow its growth, thus helping to decrease the progression of myopia.
